While many aspects of Vector Magic are free - you can upload, vectorize, and preview images without any commitment - you need to either subscribe to Vector Magic Unlimited or exchange 1 token for the vector results for which you wish to enable downloading.

When signing up you get 2 free tokens.

There is a free version of the PNG (bitmap) result. This version has a small mark in the corner indicating that it was traced with Vector Magic. If you subscribe to Vector Magic Unlimited or exchange a token to download the vector results, a version of the PNG without this mark is made available instead of the free one.

Enabling downloading for an image allows you to download the vectorized result in all provided output formats. You are free to re-vectorize the image until you are satisfied. Your image and associated result will be available for at least 14 days from the time you enable downloading, provided you do not delete them before that.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

YES means that users have reported that they were able to open/import our output and use it in the program successfully.
NO means that the program does not support importing our specific output.
NA means that the program does not support importing that image format at all.

Image width*height 10.0 megapixels

Is there a desktop application available?

Edit

We are currently working on a desktop application and hope to release it soon. More information...

Can I use the results from this site freely?

Edit

We put no restrictions on your use of the derivative works this site produces, nor do we assume any liability for them. This basically means that you have essentially the same rights to the output as you had to the input.

If you choose to share your result or allow us to use it as a sample, you grant us sufficient license to the original to perform these tasks.

For the details, please see the terms of use.

Are there any papers published on the technology? Where can I learn more about the details?

Edit

We have yet to publish, so unfortunately there is no detailed technical information available.

Can you remove the image background?

Edit

We don't have that feature just yet, but we're considering adding it.

Once an image has been vectorized, you can delete the background in a vector editing program.

Do you support gradients?

Edit

Not at this time, but we're considering adding that feature.

What types of images are supported?

Edit

The site is currently tuned for tracing logos and photos.
